Поселок Боровая расположен на реке Стугна в 18 км от Фастова. Население составляет 9 тыс. человек. Боровая похожа на соединенные между собой дачные кооперативы. Совсем рядом находится агломерация Мотовиловки. В поселке есть Церковь Успения Пресвятой Богородицы, построенная в 1902 году. До 1942 года была часовней на кладбище, а затем была открыта, как церковь немцами и достроена при поддержке местного комбината по обработке дерева. Купол имеет форму восьмиугольника.
